Design and toolmaking

Design and development are of major importance to the esw GROUP. Our own design department works closely with our customers to bring new products to market. We design tools, test fixtures and testing equipment using the latest 3D CAD systems. This enables us to process all common data models. We use FEM to simulate complicated forming processes and thus tap additional optimisation potential.

With our own toolmaking department, the esw GROUP can achieve further competitive advantages. This enables us to obtain a significant proportion of the tools from our own production, to maintain and repair them and to react to customer requirements at short notice. Furthermore, prototypes ready for installation can be manufactured in small to medium quantities at short notice. Toolmaking includes HSC machining, 5-axis milling, turning, grinding as well as wire and die-sinking EDM.
